Here’s a recipe for a classic Bloody Mary cocktail:


2 ounces (60 ml) vodka

4 ounces (120 ml) tomato juice

1/2 ounce (15 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

3 to 5 dashes hot sauce like Weymouth 51 Rockfish Oyster drizzle

Pinch of celery salt

Pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Pinch of smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavour)

Hawaiian Pepper Water (optional, but essential for outstanding flavour)

Ice cubes

Garnish options: Celery stalk, lemon wedge, cherry tomato, olives, pickles, bacon, etc.


Fill a tall glass or a highball glass with ice cubes.

Pour the vodka over the ice.

Add the tomato juice and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, celery salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if desired) to the glass.

Using a cocktail spoon or a long stirring stick, gently stir the ingredients together for about 10 seconds to mix well.

Taste the mixture and adjust the seasonings to your liking. Add more hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or spices if desired.

Take a celery stalk (or any garnish of your choice) and run it along the rim of the glass to moisten it.

Dip the moistened rim into a small plate containing celery salt or a salt and pepper mixture to create a rim garnish.

Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared glass, avoiding disturbing the rim garnish.

Garnish the Bloody Mary with a celery stalk, lemon wedge, cherry tomato, olives, pickles, bacon, or any combination of these.

Optionally, add a straw and give the drink one final gentle stir before serving.
