What is a Jerk sauce ?
Caribbean jerk sauce is a popular condiment used in many dishes throughout the Caribbean region. It is made by combining fresh ingredients such as onions, peppers, garlic, Scotch bonnet Chillies, thyme, ginger, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cayenne pepper, salt, vinegar, sugar, and other spices
Our authentic Jamaican jerk sauce is great when used as a marinade for jerk Chicken or pork. The meat is first brined with aromatics and spice to add extra succulence and flavour. It is then marinated in the sauce and then finally grilled over a barbeque to provide some really great flavour.
You can find a recipe to make our jerk sauce and Jamaican jerk chicken on the Chilli Workshop blog. Alternatively, if you don’t have the time, a fantastic alternative in our web shop is Dr Troubles Lemon Chilli sauce, which is mouth-wateringly good with barbeques
